For ipod instal Dash12/27/2023 I mounted the XM receiver unit just above the radio head unit opening. This leaves the XM radio receiver and iPod/AUX facing towards the cab area for easy cable access. I pointed the 20 pin Molex connector toward the down/front side of the ash tray door to allow the cable running down from the radio head unit to easily connect with this interface module. I used industrial strength Velcro to mount this unit in place. I placed the new kit's AXXESS interface module on the ash tray door in place of the GM12-AUXV2 unit. I'm going to see if I can maintain the "no dash removal" steps I used to install the current unit, but we'll have to see. Here are the installation instructions for the unit. I'm going to take pictures of the installation of unit and hopefully report on how successful the installation was. I have the kit on order and it should be here next week. All I would have to do is "power down" the integration module to toggle between the two types of secondary audio input devices. Bryan informed me that he could setup the unit to accept the Aux and/or iPod/iPhone input. I called the vendor yesterday and spoke with Bryan (the owner) and he was a very nice person to speak with on the phone. The unit as advertised will accept one other audio input type "Aux Input" or "iPod/iPhone Input". ![]() My problem being that I want to have the XM receiver and AUX audio input today, and down the road when I get an iPod or iPhone I also want this unit to work with those too. ![]() I located a XM receiver with iPod/iPhone (iPod level 5 capabilities - you can control the iPod/iPhone from the controls on the steering wheel) integration unit. It sounds great, but the XM integration is difficult since the screen the XM Nexus25 unit is small. ![]() I've been able to plug in my non iPod music player and a portable XM receiver into this unit. In the past I've posted how I installed a GM12-AUXV2 audio interface with the Bose enabled radio head unit. I located "my gift" yesterday and it will become my next mini project on my SSR. My wife and I agreed to find our own Christmas presents this year (the other person could veto the gift choice if it was too "much").
